Our very own Dr. John Hain will the focus of the monthly Health Check segment on the WOWT Channel 6 on Sunday, October 6. Dr. Hain cares for patients with a wide range of neurosurgical diseases involving the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. Spinal conditions that he treats include both acquired and degenerative diseases. His interests involve all areas of complex and minimally invasive spine surgery including disk herniation, spinal tumors, spinal fusion, spinal deformity (scoliosis), spinal cord decompression, traumatic spinal injury and artificial disk surgery.
Dr. Hain is one of eight surgeons who operate at the Nebraska Spine Hospital. He has practiced as a neurological surgeon since 2007. Originally from Columbus, Neb., Dr. Hain attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed his residency in Surgery and Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. with special emphasis in complex spinal procedures.
Dr. Hain has received additional training in minimally invasive spine surgery at the prestigious South Florida Spine Institute under the guidance of Dan S. Cohen, MD. He returned to Omaha after his residency and practices at Neurosurgical Associates of Nebraska and sees clinic in Omaha, Fremont, Norfolk, Council Bluffs and Shenandoah, IA.
Dr. Hain is married. He and his wife have four children. His other interests include running, fishing and woodworking.
