Over the years, we have received countless comments from patients and their families about the exceptional quality of our nursing staff. And we agree! That’s why we’ve partnered with The DAISY Foundation to allow our nurses to be eligible for The DAISY Award.
What’s The DAISY Award?
The DAISY Award is presented by The DAISY Foundation, which was created to express gratitude to nurses with programs that recognize them for the extraordinary skillful, compassionate care they provide patients and families.
This expression of gratitude will help nurses to always remember the unforgettable impact their care has on both patients and families, inspiring nurses to provide extraordinary care not only with their brains but also with their hearts.
The DAISY Foundation was founded in November of 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 from complications of ITP. His family was completely awestruck by the care and compassion that they and Patrick were shown during his 8-week illness that they wanted to say thank you to nurses. Since this award was founded –
- Over 4,300 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing internationally have committed to honoring their nurses with The DAISY Award
- More than 136,000 nurses have been honored
- Over 1,600,000 nominations have been written
Specialized Nursing Staff
One thing that sets Nebraska Spine Hospital apart from other facilities in the area is our specialized nursing staff. This simply means that each member of our team focuses solely on spinal care. Just like you’d want a surgeon who specializes in your condition to treat you, our spine specialty nurses know exactly what to expect with each surgery we perform here. They know how to look after spine surgery patients, so if there’s a problem it will be identified quickly.
